Dr Kamal Dutt Sharma is a Principal Scientist (Plant Physiology) with Crop Physiology unit of Department of Agronomy, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar 125 004, India. Dr K D Sharma studies the physiological basis of genetic variability in wheat, barley, chickpea and Vigna spp for drought and terminal heat tolerance in arid and semi-arid environments. His research is concerned with the physiology of processes that result in improved yield of the above crops in environments limited by water and nutrients and terminal high temperature during reproductive phase of crop growth. His research also concerns the integration of soil micro-organism and agro-physiological management to improve wheat productivity under high temperature and water stress. Dr Sharma attended an International training on “Increasing water use efficiency in agriculture” at Water Technology Centre, Hyderabad, India and Alterra-Ilri, Wageningen University, The Netherlands. The Dr K D Sharma has published more than 90 scientific papers in national and international journals of repute.
